APOLOGIES

Hi everyone

Please accept my apologies for the lack of content being delivered from me. From November to February last year to this year, I was living on Christmas Island where it is absolutely gloriously forward in natural sights and sites, and totally and utterly backward in telecommunications and internet.

Telstra is the only provider for both phones, mobiles and provision of server to the one and only internet provider, hence everything is hugely expensive and also intermittent in working ability for the internet.

You cannot access email or internet from your mobile, yes, it is 2G only, and you can only use Telstra which requires a change in provider if you have happily cruised along on TPG like I did.

Additionally, for $160 or $180 month you can only have 4GB of data on an internet plan, so it is not terribly satisfactory. Especially when that service provider buys it from Telstra and has posted on their site “we cannot be held responsible if it doesn’t work and there are no refunds” or words to that effect.

I haven’t figured out how to be an internet provider and if ever one was needed to give a competitive nudge, it’s on Christmas Island!

Since leaving Christmas Island, I flew home for a scant 12 days, and then on to Derby in WA. on March 11.

Hot, red dirt, baking heat, boab (bottle trees) with strange dangling bag shaped fruit, glorious colours, magnificent birds, wallabies all over, and a real supermarket!! Not like Christmas Island where frozen meat was repackaged with a January date and then sold as freshly frozen meat!

My gorgeous twin grand-daughters are growing up so fast, and they are so adorable, as are my other three grand-children.

Anyway, the glitch on my part has passed and I am back on track for a few more weeks.

I trust this finds you well and happy and Happy Easter, and drive safely.

Cheers

Narelle
